Dr Natalie Lyth qualified in Medicine from the University of Liverpool in 1987. She initially trained as a General Practitioner, where her experience in primary care led to a particular interest in children’s developmental conditions and the wide-ranging impact these can have on children and their families.
Motivated to develop her knowledge and expertise in this area, Dr Lyth transferred to Paediatrics, focusing on the assessment and support of children with developmental needs. Throughout her career, she has maintained a strong commitment to supporting children and young people facing challenging circumstances and ensuring they receive the care and advocacy they need.
This interest in child welfare and protection led to her appointment as a Designated Doctor for Safeguarding and Children in Care, a role through which she provides expert clinical leadership and support to safeguard vulnerable children and promote their wellbeing.
